Mental health counselling support. Access your five sessions per semester for counselling support or receive referral information and/or support for more ongoing or in-depth counselling

During an individual academic or financial-aid advising appointment, students may seek support from advisors about the topics listed below. Each advisor has a specific area of focus:

Emily Shanahan: New Undergraduate students who have earned between 0 and 60 credits toward their degree, internal scholarship information and application assistance.

Norbert Caparica: Undergraduate students who have earned 60 to 120 credits or more toward their degree, graduation checks, needs-based bursary information and application assistance (i.e. materials, food security, etc)

Finn Snodden: Visual Art Certificate, Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Design and Graduate students, student loan inquiries

Lorelei Dietz (she/her) is a Registered Counselling Therapist (Candidate) within the Office of Opportunity and Belonging. She strives to provide a safe, creative, and affirming space for individuals navigating mental health, personal, or school-related challenges. With a background in the Creative Arts Therapies, she brings personal and professional experience from the performing arts and mental health fields which are integrated in her work as a counsellor. As a queer-identifying therapist, Lorelei is especially passionate about supporting and empowering folks and allies of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.

Lorelei works from a trauma-informed and intersectional lens, understanding the many factors that can influence our experiences. She holds herself accountable to participate in ongoing anti-oppressive learning and reflection.
